Get/Update library cards for summer sessions beginning April 28

Library staff will begin to issue and update library cards for students enrolled in summer 2008 sessions on April 28, both in person at Blackwood and Rohrer, and online at http://library.camdencc.edu. Summer sessions are short and so are library hours, so if you're picking up some credits this summer, be sure your card is updated so you can use our online resources from off-campus.

E-reserves, searching CamCat, Off-campus Access

The e-mailbox at Ask-the-Librarian has received several inquiries this semester. I thought other people might have the same questions, so here are some of the recent transcripts: Q: My professor put some things on electronic reserve Where can I find them? A: You'll find reserve materials from the library webpage, http://library.camdencc.edu From there click on CamCat - Search for Books. There you'll see an option to search reserves by course name or professor's name. Q: How can I find out if you have any books by Terry McMillan? A: There are several books by Terry McMillan in the college library collection. To find them Go to the library web site http://library.camdencc.edu/ Click on Search For Books At the next screen click on the drop down menu ‘Keyword’, and select Author instead. Type in McMillan Terry A list of results will appear showing you what is in the college library collection. You can also search in ALL Libraries in the CamCat system by clicking on the dropdown menu and choosing ‘All libraries’. Use your college library card to borrow books from the college library or any library in the system. If you do not have a card you can complete this online form http://library.camdencc.edu/Eforms/librarycardrequest.htm and a card will be mailed to you. Q: I was doing research at home and I put my library card number in at the prompt, but I couldn't get into the database. Can you help? A: Somehow we do not have a record for you in our library database. We have recently deleted expired accounts, so if you have not updated your library card recently, yours might have been one of them. Please complete the online form to request a new library card: http://library.camdencc.edu/Eforms/librarycardrequest.htm. We will mail it to you. Or, if you will be at the Blackwood or Cherry Hill campus , stop in the library to get a new card in person, as that would be faster than the mail. Please bring your student ID card with you. Do you have a question? Don't hesitate to ask the librarian by using the form on the website, http://library/camdencc.edu.
