Memorabilia Exhibit through Thanksgiving: 'Thank you' to Lenders

College Memorabilia Exhibit at Wolverton Library, Blackwood Campus

The spears are up and more stuff is coming in, thanks to notices in the Courier and word-of-mouth !! The College's 40th anniversary celebration is in full swing.

Today a former member of Sigma Delta Rho fraternity, class of 1970, called to offer to lend a poster from a 1969 frat-sponsored event and a pledge paddle! Are there any other brothers out there?

The stage-prop spears from Jesus Christ, Superstar (1984) - and passion plays in the 1960s - have been installed. Check Judith Rowlands' picture in yesterday's Courier!

A copy of the 1970 (71?) Faculty Wives' Association Cookbook has been loaned, as well as a copy of the 25th Anniversary Cookbook from 1992.

Thelma Long, member of the EOF Advisory Board 1972-1986, brought over the plaque she received in appreciation of her service.

A 1972 Dean's List certificate and a 1986 President's List certificate have also been delivered.

The Ski Club patch owner also loaned pictures from a 1974 trip to Mt. Snow, VT.

Programs from Matin Luther King, Jr. tributes, pictures from employee recognition ceremonies and old-style ID cards are also on view.

There is room for more! Call the Library Director at 856-227-7200, ext.4406, or email jgetaz@camdencc.edu to tell us what you can lend. The exhibit will be up at least through Thanksgiving, but not every item has to stay that long... We'll include pictures with the next post.

Wanted: College Memorabilia for 40th Anniversary Exhibits

Are you a student or employee, past or present, of Camden County College? Did your children attend? If so, you may have items to lend for the 40th anniversary exhibit in September. Now is the time to check those boxes in the attic or basement to see if you have memorabilia that we could include in the exhibits at the Wolverton Library on the Blackwood Campus.

During September 2007, when we mark the 40th anniversary of the first classes at CCC, we invite the loan of memorabilia to celebrate student life  - from the late 1960’s or whenever you were here. Do you have a beanie, a banner, a dried corsage, a tattered t-shirt? How about an old ID card or a grade report? Do you know a former student who does?

In October, we’ll celebrate the faculty. Who has a souvenir from the Faculty Follies, a copy of the Faculty Wives Cookbook or a treasured slide rule? Did you save your first employment contract? Perhaps a retiree would lend his or her academic regalia.

In November, as we inaugurate our 4th president, we will celebrate the careers and accomplishments of all our presidents.

Materials on loan will be displayed in locking exhibit cases in the library lobby. Please contact Joan Getaz, Library Director, at 856-227-7200 x4406 or jgetaz@camdencc.edu if you can lend items for these exhibits. Visit http://www.camdencc.edu/40th_ann/INDEX.htm often to keep up on all the 40th anniversary doings, and to add your comments.

Hand-Made and Altered Books Display

Professor Kay Klotzbach has placed hand-made and altered book forms, created by students for their final projects in her hybrid art appreciation course, on display at the Blackwood Campus library this summer. In these projects, students demonstrate their knowledge of visual elements and design principles by applying it to communicate a message. Come, see and be inspired!

The display may be viewed during library hours: Monday-Thursday 8 am - 9 pm.
